I was in a bind to complete my CPR and ACLS training quickly and came across Above Bar CPR in the Santa Cruz area. I have been a nurse for many years and been through alot of CPR and ACLS classes (BIG SNOOZERS!) After completing both the CPR and ACLS training sessions through Above Bar, I can say without hesitation that I have never attended a session that was so engaging, so educational and SO worth my time and money.

The instructors were great - all knowledgeable and experienced. My CPR instructor was a fireman and my ACLS instructor was an experienced critical care flight nurse. I'm not sure about you, but if someone is going to teach me how to save lives, I want to go to an expert. Both of my instructors certainly fit that qualification.

The classes overall were very enjoyable and the equipment that provided was clean and state-of-the-art. The CPR dummies that were used during the classes accurately measure the speed and effectiveness of your compressions. This was really helpful.

Overall, I can't rave enough about the experience. I would definitely recommend Above Bar!

This was my first ever First Aid and CPR class. To be honest, I'm not medically inclined and am really quite squeamish about the human body and all the things that can go wrong in it. I never would have thought that I would have the confidence to give compressions, perform mouth to mouth, and jab an epi pen into someone's thigh ::shudder::

Thanks to Jason and his awesome class, I now feel prepared to respond to a variety of emergency situations and have found a new confidence within myself! It's a great feeling to know that you are prepared and have the skills and knowledge to properly respond. I highly recommend Jason and his class to anyone who wants to feel confident in an emergency situation. Woot woot!

The instruction was great and competancies were explained throughly so when tested it wasnt stressful or nerve racking. Jason knows what hes teaching and dosent make you feel stupid when asking even the most basic questions.

We found a man laying unconscious and unresponsive on Friday night. We called 911 and the EMTs arrived within a matter of minutes. I did not have to perform chest compressions because he was breathing. However, I had no reservations about doing so if I had to. The confidence came from the free class we took at the Boardwalk. I took the Above Bar CPR training in First Aid, AED and CPR on April 13 just in time! This week during my evening commute, a fellow passenger suffered a heart attack, and I was one of a team of three who resuscitated the man. By the time we reached San Francisco where an ambulance was waiting, the man's eyes were open and he was breathing again! EMT told me he would have died if he hadn't received CPR.

When I left your class last month I felt confident I had learned an important new skill. I bought the face shield in the small pouch to hang on my keychain as a reminder to me that I was certified to do CPR and shouldn't hesitate act. Little did I know that four weeks later I would have the opportunity use my training. During the strange time warp that surrounds all emergency situations, and pumped full of adrenaline, I was able to bring to mind your coaching during class, which helped me to maintain my focus so I could do my job.

Thank you, Jason, for the thorough training I received from you and your team. It proved to be invaluable!

WOW! Jason and his team were incredibly efficient. But efficiency doesnt set the bar. Excellent people skills does, and an incredible sense of humor. At 8 o clock in the morning, Jason had my coworkers and I in stitches! Out of all the CPR trainings I've been to, his was the most engaging and definitely the most interesting. Thanks Jason! My experience with above bar cpr was amazing. I unfortunately signed up for the wrong class and Jason, the instructor, informed me of my mistake and let me take the next class as soon as I could. He then was able to complete my certificate within days in order for me to meet my deadline for school. He was amazing and I am so grateful for them because they truly are there to help us and its hard to find that these days!

Jason was awesome! It was quick and easy to sign up for classes. I had an emergency work situation and needed to be certified quickly, and he totally worked around my schedule. Was completely painless and actually kind of fun! Never had that kind of experience in a CPR class before.

My business partner and I are healthcare providers and needed to renew our recently-expired CPR licenses quickly. In this area, there are very few places that offer these renewal courses and virtually NONE with the convenient plethora of class times/dates, and for very reasonable prices.

Jason keeps the class sizes small so that you get through it quickly and efficiently. He has new, quality training dummies that make the learning experience as realistic as possible. Besides being knowledgeable about his work, he's really friendly and is an excellent communicator.

We will definitely renew again with Above Bar CPR. He even offers private classes for groups and when we get more employees, we will definitely send them here.

Two very funny and knowledgeable gentlemen came to our job and taught the volunteers about CPR, First Aid, and AED usage. I've taken other courses before, and this one was way above par - in terms of time spent, efficiency, and hands on training. The course was never dull and the instructors were thorough. They supply everything you need and give you information of the items you should keep in close proximity in case an emergency situation arises. Almost every situation that comes to mind was covered along with the appropriate responses to the emergencies. The class size was small enough to make sure that everyone gets enough hands on training.

As a child of two firefighters, it was pretty interesting covering new material that I either had forgotten about or was never introduced to. I would definitely recommend this course any person/organization.
